Wearing padding in public hints & tips

There is nothing better than being in the comfort of your own home and wearing whatever you like. This is your safe haven at the end of the day, A place where you are not judged and can safely have these lovely feelings.

To most of us a Nappy / Diaper is the #1 attachment item, as wearing these items envoke comfortable feelings that connects us as AB/DL's to being loved and cared for as a baby. Personally they feel like an amazing warm hug that I never want to end. So if we can have these beautiful and caring feelings at home why can't we enjoy these feelings plus the benefits of wearing padding while we are away from our home.

I have been 24/7 for probably 3 Years now. That means wearing all the time so wearing in public is no big deal to me at all and my advice comes from someone living this lifestyle. I can tell you that I have never ever in my life been as happy as I am now, As I live my life how I choose to and not how society in general says how I should " normal "

I want to cover some points with you about what things limit us in doing this, Topics like consent, and hints and tips to make this as easy as pie.

Wearing in public consent.

Whilst we do have the right to wear whatever we like in public we must consider being in a public place and it is paramount not to expose non consenting people to our lifestyle. No no one in the public needs to know that you are padded.  This is easily done by ensuring that you take the following steps.

  • Prohibit diaper peekage: No one wants to see your nappy poking out the top of your shorts/pants.  We can easily stop this from happening by wearing Onesie / Bodysuit. Whilst there are some colourful designs out there, There are many plain colours available like black or white that will not raise any suspicions and simply look like another layer of clothing
  • Bulkiness : Be concious of this. There are many great brands that myabdlsupplies retails that are thin, discreet but also have a good capacity. There is no need to double up or wear the thickest padding you can buy and add a booster / stuffer to it. You will just draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Nothing wrong at all doing this at home we need to avoid this in public.
  • Messing: Whilst no one will be able to detect fresh urine smell, they will be able to smell a fresh load. Unless you legitimately have a fecal incontinence problem carrying this out in public is involving a non consenting persons in your lifestyle and is not good.

Our thoughts that prohibit this.

This goes for self acceptance in general, There has been entire novels written on this so I will briefly touch on this topic. We are programmed from a young age to think " Only babies wear nappies.  "  With the exception of elderly who also suffer mentally from the stigma attached to wearing nappies later in life.

As this is our basic programming it is difficult for someone to think that it is ok that they can do this. Meaning some people have mixed feelings both the negative thoughts attached with not supposed to be wearing according to societal norms vs the inner child wanting to have these safe comfortable feelings. This is where self acceptance can come into play. The sooner that one can accept AB/DL is a part of who the are. Not all of who they are just a part of what makes you unique the sooner these negative feelings one can have will disappear. Asides from the law of the land,  No one has written any rules about how you decide to live your life.  Only you can do this. Only you can choose and implement how you want to live.

You may have worn in public, You may not have as yet. My first memories of wearing padding in public was absolutely nerve wracking. I think I went to the grocery store or something. I had constant anxiety and thoughts that everyone could see my padded underwear through my clothing. Nothing could be further from the actual truth.

The truth is everyone is to busy in there own life. It is not general behaviour for people to consciously walking around scanning peoples crutch / butt area's to see if they are wearing a nappy. People are busy with there own lives. As we know more people are more interested staring into there mobile phones like zombies. Trust me, know one will know you are wearing a nappy unless you make it abundantly obvious and do so in a way contrary to the above points raised under consent.

Even in the most unlikely situation that someone does, I can guarantee you that they will not be tapping you on the shoulder and asking that you are wearing a nappy. In 3 years of being 24/7 This has never happened to me.

Discreet = Confidence

The best way of being confident of wearing in public is being discreet. Wearing the correct product will help assist with this and myabdlsupplies has the goods to help.

  • Pants / Diaper Covers : Whist some of these products can be made to be crinkly and loud which is great at home to remind you what a big baby you are,  There are many that are designed to be discreet. Incontrol Silence Pants will cover up your nappies. Not only will they provide you the extra security of leak protection they will also help with reducing the crinkles from emitting from your padding as you walk.
  • Onesies : Wearing this clothing item under your clothing,  will assist in providing you discretion from stopping diaper peekage, they will also help by holding your nappy in place as well as quietening down crinkles.
  • Choice of Padding: Choose something thin and discreet. Thoughts of what padding is discreet varies with personal opinions. In my opinion I would place Northshore Megamax and Baby Parade products into this category. Northshore Megamax is very quiet considering it being a plastic backed diaper. There will be no noise at all from the Baby Parade nappy due to it being cloth backed.
